Farm Biosecurity goes to the animal health committee
This month, the Animal Health Committee was briefed on the Farm Biosecurity program by Animal Health Australia's AHC representative Dr Ian Denney. The Animal Health Committee comprises the Chief Veterinary Officers of the Commonwealth, states and territories, and New Zealand, along with representatives from the Australian Animal Health Laboratory (CSIRO) and Biosecurity Australia. Animal Health Australia attends as an observer. The main purpose of AHC is to develop science-based and nationally consistent policy on animal health issues, and to provide advice as necessary on animal health to the Primary Industries Standing Committee, and the Primary Industries Health Committee.

Animal Health Committee members have been asked to champion Farm Biosecurity towards better protection of animal health in Australia.
