Disease summary
Vesicular stomatitis is a zoonotic viral disease of livestock occurring in the Americas. The disease mainly affects horses, donkeys, cattle and pigs, with characteristic vesicles occurring on the mouth, feet and udder. Vesicular stomatitis is important in the differential diagnosis of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and other vesicular diseases.
