Congratulations to Horse SA’s Julie Fiedler

Julie Fiedler at official launch of the Horse Venue Biosecurity Workbook in March 2011. Julie was a key contributor to this valuable biosecurity tool.

Julie Fiedler, Executive Officer of Horse SA, has been awarded a full scholarship to participate in the Governor’s Leadership Foundation program in South Australia. For many years, Julie has been the mainstay of Horse SA, also making significant contributions to the Australian horse-owning community at a national level.

The foundation’s program is designed to broaden, enhance and accelerate leadership capability and provide high-end development for key people in organisations throughout South Australia. It is directed at people who are leaders, or emerging leaders, in their organisations, have substantial work experience and who have demonstrated the potential to become future leaders in SA.

During the protracted negotiations leading to the important signing of the Emergency Animal Disease Response Agreement (EADRA) by the horse industry, Julie played a key role in bringing together various groups of the recreational horse community.  Her latest achievement has been the finalisation of the Australian Horse Welfare Protocol, soon to be published on the AAWS website.
