Enterprise manuals

Enterprise manuals cover specific risk enterprises, such as abattoirs or artificial breeding centres, that pose special economic or disease eradication problems, or are important in the epidemiology or impact of certain diseases. The purpose of enterprise manuals is to provide information and guidance to two target groups:

  • government personnel involved in EAD preparedness who may be unfamiliar with the operations of the industry of which the enterprise is part
  • industry personnel and veterinarians who need information on strategies that may be adopted to improve preparedness (in the form of contingency plans) and guidance on the operational procedures which may be applied in the event of an EAD incident.
