Education and training opportunities at AB-CRC

2007 Summer School

13 - 15 February 2007, Geelong, Victoria

Applications for a training place at the 2007 AB-CRC Summer School are due by Monday 4 September. The following courses are being offered (i)Epidemiology Clinic for Emerging Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response; (ii)Biosecurity Laboratory Training for Emerging Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response; and (iii) Advanced Training in Analysis of Complex Surveillance Data to Demonstrate Freedom from Disease.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships

Scholarship applications are now open for the following projects:

1. Studies on the epidemiology, pathogenesis and control of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1) in ducks in Vietnam

2. Dengue outbreak control: identifying early indicators of large outbreaks

3. The epidemiology of the current epidemic of Avian Influenza H5N1 in domestic poultry in Indonesia

Short courses and Masters Units

The AB-CRC is calling for proposals from AB-CRC partners, for funding of short courses and Masters Units in areas related to biosecurity and emerging infectious diseases. Proposals need to be received by the end of October 2006. Training materials from AB-CRC funded short courses and Masters Units can be made available to AB-CRC partners for not-for-profit education and training purposes.
